Out With The Old And In With The New!
Although resolutions are well intended... I like to think of mine, more as goals. That way if for some reason I can't keep them...I can always roll them over into next year!! Here are a few things I hope to achieve in 2010 (*I"m keeping my fingers crossed*)
First...
We will be welcoming a new little addition to our familia, my niece Emilie Rae...we cant wait to get our frilly on!
For the last 3 years I have spent my time as a returning student...and finally in May I will be doing this...
And even though I have achieved a milestone at 30...I feel like this...
I plan to run a 5k...(which isn't to bad, 3 miles definitely doable!)
Eating healthier...
Perfect my "Cheffer" skills, as my darling 3 yr old would say...
Travel as much as possible with the people I love....
To places like....Mammoth, Califorina in the winter...for snowboarding (a hobby for the hubby) and shopping (a pass time for the mommy)
In the summer...a little R&R on the island of Puerto Rico were mi gente are from...
In the Fall or winter...maybe a trip to either The Big Apple or Miami....
All the while saving for this...Prauge, The Czech Republic where my husband's gente are from
This will be the year I'll let my creative juices flow...
...I plan to read more books...refinish some furniture...and make little knick knacks here and there...
And because the Little Guy is at such a funtabulous age...museum and plays at Balboa Park will be a monthly treat...starting with You're A Good Man Charlie Brown on January 10th!
This will be the year where I WILL.NOT.SWEAT.THE.SMALL.STUFF ( I say that every year, hence the rollover option)....so whiny AND annoying people need not apply!

CONFESSION:
My New Years "resolution"
A very good friend emailed this to me....and it's definitely worth trying:
11. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
12. Don't have negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.
13. Don't over do. Keep your limits.
14. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
15. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip.
16. Dream more while you are awake
17. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need..
18. Forget issues of the past. Don't remind your partner with His/her mistakes of the past. That will ruin your present happiness.
19. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. Don't hate others.
20. Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.
21. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
22. Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.
23. Smile and laugh more.
24. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree...
Society:
25. Call your family often.
26. Each day give something good to others.
27. Forgive everyone for everything..
28. Spend time w/ people over the age of 70 & under the age of 6.
29. Try to make at least three people smile each day.
30. What other people think of you is none of your business.
31. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch.
Life:
32. Do the right thing!
33. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.
34. GOD heals everything.
35. However good or bad a situation is, it will change..
36. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
37. The best is yet to come..
38. When you awake alive in the morning, thank GOD for it.
39. Your Inner most is always happy. So, be happy.
Last but not the least:
40. Run a 5k
41. See more of the world with the people I love

Believe...
About a year ago my mom suggested we take a ride on the Polar Express. I was like huh?what? your trippn! But I succumbed to the Grandparents peer pressure and decided this would be a great Xmas adventure for the little guy.
The whirlwind of chaos that surrounded this spectacular event- from forgetting to BUY the freaking tickets to the GRULING 8hr drive to Williams AZ in a snow storm was worth this experience!!
We're talking A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! I mean I'm 30 and seriously had more fun than the 3 year old!
Upon arrival to the Grand Canyon Railway Museum (which might I add is situated in the most adorable 1950's town) was a site to see!!! There was snow...there was...music....children and parents in snuggly PJ's...cookies...and sing along songs...there was the North Pole...THERE WAS SANTA AND HIS REINDEER'S....and last of all...every child (including myself) received a golden bell!!!!!!!
I MEAN COME ON!!!

CONFESSION:
\
I'm a 30 year old college graduate.
Well...you read it here first.
By this time tomorrow I will have submitted my final papers, and provided I pass which I motherfreaking will! I will have FINALLY graduated from San Diego State University!
HOLLA! THERE AINT NO PARTY LIKE AN AZTEC PARTY WOOO YAAA!
So about 3 1/2 years ago I set 4 goals for myself, all of which I wanted to complete by the time I was 30:
1. Loose 45+ lbs....which I did...and have maintained, give or take those 7 dreadful pounds!
2. Go to Hawaii with My Love...check.
3. Have a second child...not quiet...but still working on it :)
4. Graduate from SDSU....which after tomorrow I can officially check off my list too!
3 out of 4 ain't to shabby!
I'm definitely the first to say that having a degree can be overrated sometimes, both my husband and my father have "some college" experience and have done very well for themselves despite.
And even though my degree will NOT help me win the Nobel Peace prize or help find the cure for AIDS.
It sure does feel great to be done :)

My favorite time a year is full of ... DIY decorations, gingerbread lattes, Christmas tree cutting, online shopping and weekly batches of homemade cookies...and even though I may get a bit bah humbuggy when comes to gift wrapping, warming my house up with cinnamon and spice makes me all warm and tingly inside!
